Your celebrant
As soon as you have booked your wedding and wedding date with our Wild Weddings consultants, you will be introduced to your marriage celebrant who will guide you through the process of lodging your legal documentation.
Legal requirements for foreign residents
In order to marry in Queensland, Australia you must both be 18 years of age or older
Documentation you require consists of the following;
- Original birth certificates
- Valid to year passports
- If you have changed your name by Deed Poll, you will require legal proof
- If either of you are divorced, you will require your Decree Absolute
- If either of you are widowed, you will require the Death Certificate of your late spouse
- Notice of Intended Marriage. This will be provided by your celebrant or the Australian Embassy in your country
Your documentation can be made by distance and your celebrant can have you sign your official forms on the day just prior to your ceremony.
